voices in the dark 2020
#takeTwo
Dear all wonderful resilient creatives,
In light of the recent events, we have decided to extend our submission deadline for 14 days, to Friday 3rd April at 4pm.
We hope this will bring some positive inspiration and creative comfort during this difficult time.
Looking forward to hearing from all who can and wish to submit something. Thank you to all the incredible writers who have submitted their work so far.
Best wishes, everyone stay safe (and sane!),
Serin and Cassie 💜
CALLING ALL UK WRITERS!
Following the success of our inaugural new writing initiative Voices In The Dark 2018, we are pleased to announce that we are now accepting submissions for Voices in The Dark 2020 #TakeTwo.
We are on the hunt for the most exciting new writing that the UK has to offer.
After a nationwide call-out, Voices in the Dark 2020 will feature a selection of 6 short plays from emerging writers that seek to explore some of the most pertinent socio-political issues affecting the UK today, staged in one night at Greenwich Theatre.
The night will provide a platform for up and coming writers with all work presented by a company of professional directors and actors.
This is a great new writing opportunity for the creative community. Pieces will be selected by an industry panel including Matilda James and Hanna Lingman from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, James Haddrell from Greenwich Theatre alongside our own Artistic and Outreach Directors. Further panel members to be confirmed.
Selected pieces will be performed on 3rd June 2020 at Greenwich Theatre for an audience of industry professionals and general public.
Deadline
Please email your short play by 4:00pm on Friday 3rd April 2020 to info@cultureclashtheatre.com, quoting Voices In The Dark 2020 and the name of the script in the subject line.
The Brief
We are interested in championing and producing work that represents the real social and political issues affecting our society today, and are interested in the link between our identity and our history (whatever that may mean to you).
